October

First off, I am addicted to Huffington Post (www.huffingtonpost.com.) It is a web news site which is left-leaning and tends to break stories before sources such as cnn.com. I am news crazy, I think due to my anxiety that Obama won't win and thus the world will end and I will end up scavenging for squirrels in burnt out Wal-Marts. So far McCain has shown us the worse side of those who seek power. Don't get me started on macaroni-for-brains Palin.
The weather this week has been surprisingly nice. I think I may even have to water my garden today. I harvested carrots this weekend. They were a rainbow seed mix and I have so far got white, purple, yellow, and brown carrots. I haven't heard from my landlord when or if construction will start so I haven't moved my garden. I'd at least like to salvage the soil and replant closer to my house.
Apples are in season and the farmer's market has quite a nice variety. I like to get them from a booth where the apples are harvested in North Eugene. They have many varieties and have samples to boot. I like the Burgundy for its white fruit tinged with red and its sweet and tangy taste. With these apples, I actually look forward to eating them and regard them as treats, rather than mealy "I'd rather have a cookie" mass produced varieties.
